The Cantal and its radiating valleys

GR® 400 explores the Cantal massif through several loops. The FFRandonnée lists in particular the valleys of the Cère, the Jordanne and the Alagnon and the cirque du Falgoux: so many possible ways into the volcanic terrain.

Choose a loop rather than a record

The geography of the massif means you should plan your stay around your entry point and the weather. Ridges and passes offer wide horizons but require checking local conditions before heading out, especially when the weather closes in.
