One river, many Frances
GR® 3 crosses the Velay, the Forez, the Bourbonnais, the Loire Valley and Loire-Atlantique. The FFRandonnée presents it as the first official Grande Randonnée trail, over 1,243 km to La Baule.
From mountains to ocean shores
The first stages reveal a young Loire and mid-mountain landscapes; further downstream, the route becomes a heritage journey through Loire villages, châteaux, levees and the estuary. Each Loire basin thus brings its own rhythm and waypoints.
